Gian Power is the CEO and Founder of TLC Lions. Gian set up his first business aged 13 and later worked at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and PwC. In 2019 Gian was the winner of the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards and he sits on the board of This Can Happen, the UK’s largest mental health conference.
In 2015, an unexpected family tragedy changed Gian’s life forever when his father was murdered overseas. After some months off to lead the murder investigation which is still ongoing today, Gian returned to work but shortly after one of his colleagues died by suicide from the PwC building. Gian’s mental health was deeply affected by the recent events in his life. Gian started to see the power of sharing his story and experience with others and the positive impact this can have. Gian decided to leave PwC to set up TLC Lions in order to focus on the power of storytelling and he continues to share his story with companies all around the world.
Gian’s session focuses on answering some key questions – what do we mean by mental wellbeing and emotions and why do they matter? Do we ever stop to ask how our teams are feeling? Do we even stop to ask how we are feeling? How does this impact productivity and the business? Gian shares his practical tips throughout for self-care, self-development and some of the coping mechanisms that allowed him to find strength and achieve balance in tough times.
– Wellbeing in the workplace
– Creating emotionally engaged workforces
– Mental health (self-care and in teams)

“I liked the practical aspects of the session in terms of setting out ways of prioritising and protecting your own wellbeing. The session covered some techniques I am familiar with, as well as new ones to try. It gave a sense that the company is committed to ensuring staff's wellbeing and that the firm takes mental health seriously.” - IHG
“Prior to the session I had a personal conversation with a colleague. Following the call, I have felt more comfortable in approaching this colleague, and others, to express my willingness to be a pillar in their lives (personally and professionally). The call came at a pivotal moment and I am grateful for that.” - Amazon
